U of T wander which ends up in food truck stalking

Yesterday was such an amazing spring day, in fact much more like summer! It’s so much more humid here compared to Melbourne which is odd considering Melbourne is so close to the sea! In any case it was full sun in the morning and a balmy 23 degrees by lunchtime!
We decided to have brunch yesterday in order to skip the Mothers Day crowds today, and then have a wander down to the University of Toronto to check out some of the architecture.

While checking my phone over brunch I casually happened to notice that some food trucks were going to be at U of T – thanks goodness my brunch was small!
It is however somewhat embarrassing when you order from said food trucks and they remember you from the Street Food Block Party the week before….hmmm NZ accent you have not served me well…

Here are some photos from yesterday from our wander

I find these types of additions to buildings really hard to look at. I love the heritage style and to me it just jars to see glass and steel tacked onto them. I can’t understand why this is so prevalent here, there is talk of something very similar happening to the United Church on Bloor West (just down the road from us) and its really quite ugly. I wish that they could have something more in keeping with the period or something that complements the building more.

Next week sees me starting a contract job for a couple of months. It’s pretty close to home so I can walk in the morning and run home in the evening meaning I can eat more food from the food trucks!
