I have had the honour of being able to work a number of times now with Australia’s Queen of Burlesque and for 2012, the Burlesque Hall of Fame’s Reigning Queen of Burlesque – Imogen Kelly!
Imogen is an integral part of the Australian burlesque community and is working tirelessly to preserve the history of the Australian scene. I first met Imogen in 2010 during the first annual Australian Burlesque Festival when she came to my West Footscray studio in Melbourne to shoot some old Hollywood style images.

In 2012, Imogen was announced the Burlesque Hall of Fame’s Reigning Queen of Burlesque. As part of her reign, Imogen has been touring North America’s burlesque festivals and I was lucky enough that her first stop was the Toronto Burlesque Festival in July 2012. We had fun revisiting some old Hollywood style shots in the beautiful Gladstone Hotel, but then returned to her funky white room where I had a chance to play with natural light.

We managed to catch up again in late September while Imogen and I were both in New York for the 10th Annual New York Burlesque Festival. Again I had the chance to play with natural light, and then available ambient light for some interesting shots.
