“Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror. But you are the eternity and you are the mirror” – Kahlil Gibran
I have been beavering away over Christmas coffee and tea staining tulle and chiffon, then sewing adjustable skirts for the studio. So when I had a shoot with Vancouver fashion blogger Jessica Luxe, I thought I would take the opportunity to shoot one of the looks I have on hand. I managed to pick up this cute gold sequinned top from Toronto store the Kind Exchange and have paired it with a creamy/blush chiffon skirt and layered with tea stained tulle.
I have a few of these outfit options now – some gorgeous slate grey and black tulle combos, some lovely pastel blues and sea greens, plus the blush/golden tones in this shoot. All of this can be paired with those special night out tops, corset or I also have a few special pieces on hand 🙂
I love the effect of movement that the skirts get and I also had an opportunity to play with my lighting set up. It’s very easy for me to get caught up and stuck in one particular way of lighting or using one light modifier consistently, so I like to challenge myself to actually change things up once in a while. Overall I think it has a soft, dreamy, ethereal feel to the photos.
