Behind the Scenes – Updating the Studio

I have spent this last weekend crafting, re-purposing old furniture for the studio, researching ideas and generally having a clean out of stuff I have barely used.

I feel cleansed and organised, it’s so strange how organising has a very calming affect on me. And once I start, I want to organise everything! I have reorganised the studio a few times now, but there were issues nagging at me all the time. I have a little make up station but I had popped where I thought it would be out of the way, only for it to impeded access to the entrance door when the table is extended.

I also had been having a think of what I want to keep and things that I really should part with. I had picked up a few items at antique or flea markets in Melbourne, and all of that stuff made it’s way with us to Canada. Really I can’t justify having furniture I have used twice in shoots sitting in my bedroom being used as dumping space for clothes (which makes a change from the floor).

So the cute little pink telephone table purchased near Warnambool is heading for a new home

My little brown velvet boudoir chair will be making an appearance every now and then with a backdrop I have hardly been using, and the yellow chair bought in Daylesford has been painted and incorporated into the studio (along with a cute cushion I bought at The Substation market in Newport)

I thought I should actually post a few photos of how the studio is looking while it is still all fresh and clean 🙂
