I finally got around to making a short video of my burlesque portfolio images – I have been meaning to do it for a while but have been procrastinating quite a bit.
This video has images from when I very first started shooting burlesque in Melbourne back in 2009, including the Australian Burlesque Festival, and after my move to North America in 2012; the Toronto Burlesque Festival and New York Burlesque Festival. It has been so wonderful to see these performances, and it keeps me inspired to capture images that convey the emotion and message of each act.
There are still acts that amaze me – there was an act from Scarlett in Melbourne where she held an entire audience transfixed while she took off just ONE glove during her whole act, Kelly Ann Doll and her Roxanne act that made me cry, Ivory Fox’s pole act from this years New York Burlesque Festival which was so stunning in its restrained control.
