In early November I partnered with Get Fired Up Retreats. A fitness and life coaching combo which is offered as half day, full day or 3 day options.
These retreats are for people wanting to create inspiring goals and positive changes. Where you will work through a combination of coaching exercises, interspersed with hiking and tabatas to get the blood pumping.

I joined Dagmar and Kelly on a pretty brisk Friday morning, with their retreat participants for a half day retreat.
It was just after the first significant snowfall, in the ranges of the North Shore, in Lynn Valley Canyon.
The scenery was spectacular, with the dusting of snow on the hills, and the sound of water running over rapids. Such a beautiful and calm location for looking inwards, and challenging or changing self beliefs and stories.

After a warm up period and initial coaching, we all set off on a short loop walk around the canyon. At certain points we stopped to complete some tabatas. Super important to stay warm in these chilly conditions, and also challenging since you are encouraged to really push hard at a high intensity in short bursts.
But this makes it a practice that is easy to take away with you. Especially if you are looking to add some achievable fitness goals into a busy daily routine.

Each participant was gifted a journal to record their intentions, thoughts and inspiration. And given exercises so that they could reflect afterwards on what they could take away from the day, so they could maintain or refer back to when needed.

Kelly and Dagmar usually hold these retreats on the North Shore or Bowen Island, so if you are interested in finding out more – head on over to the website and check it out.
