Celebrate Glamour, Celebrate You – My turn

Photography by Angela McConnell
“And if a day goes by without my doing something related to photography, it’s as though I’ve neglected something essential to my existence, as though I had forgotten to wake up. I know that the accident of my being a photographer has made my life possible.” Richard Avedon – 1970
Photography is such a huge part of my life and this quote definitely resonates with me. I feel so much happier since I left my job, now is the time that I can devote all my energy to my photography and I am really loving it.
Ever since I was challenged by one of my delightful clients, I have been thinking about doing a few self portraits. Logistically, I wasn’t sure if I was going to manage it having parted with my tripod when I left Melbourne and wondering where the cable release had disappeared to. Luckily I am somewhat organised and still have my cable release, plus I also realized that I could actually screw my camera body straight into my lightstand. There was a moment of panic when part of the lightstand popped out with the camera and lens attached – luckily I could potentially still play for the NZ Cricket team because it was an awesome catch 🙂
So no more excuses….
